What's up Vito

I must refer to everyone' favorite sword swallowing goomba, Vito Spatafore, from the Soprano's when dealing with the Patriots offseason moves. Say what's up Vito! With yesterday's news that Willie McGinest is gone to Cleveland to be reunited with his former defensive coach Romeo Crennel, the Patriots have nothing to show for theit offseason moves. Oh yeah, they signed Hank Poteat, Artrell Hawkins, and someother backup to a backup lineman, but the Pats have will have over 20 million dollars to spend under the cap when they release Tyrone Poole later this week. The got a lot of holes to fill. I believe they are not going to go out and get the remaining good free agents like Lavar Arrington, Terrell Owens, Keyshawn Johnson. I think they are trying to get as far under the cap because they know and see into the future that their core player's contracts are up after next season. They are going to save now and spend later. Richard Seymour, Deion Branch, Dan Koppen, Daniel Graham, Asante Samual, Eugene Wilson are all due new contracts next year. It seems to the Pats that it is better to keep this core of players together and then pick and decide who will fit with them. Of Course, they should keep Adam Vinateri, Stephen Neal, and Tom Ashworth, but not at a ridiculos price. They should spend a little of their reserves for the
se players and then give the rest to next year's players. Then use the draft to bulk up the depth chart when these free agents to be decide they want to leave. It seems to be the only logical reason why the Pats haven't spent this offseason and let prime free agents like Brian Finneran, Dave Thorton and San Madison slide through the cracks. Maybe they are waiting to see if Eric Moulds will come available. A certain upgrade over David Givens. Hey the Pats know what they are doing, securing the future is alot better than securing nothing like the Redskins.
